The Wine:
The Eden Valley, high in the Barossa Ranges, is punctuated by ancient Red Gums. The vineyards growing in this shallow, rocky soil produce fine flavoured Riesling with a mineral purity that comes from the vine roots pushing through cracks in submerged rock in search of water and scarce nutrient. We are committed to releasing this wine with the complexity, palate weight and softness that can only come from holding it in our cellar for a year or two before release.

The Review
Gary Walsh, The Wine Front - 93Pts
"I’d suggest there’s no good reason to close an Australian Riesling with cork, aside from sheer bloody mindedness. This is from the Marschall Vineyard.

Straw yellow in colour, and rich and nutty. Lemongrass, lemon barley, honey, maybe aniseed, even. It’s pretty steely, but ripe in flavour, almost juicy, chalk dust texture, wheatgerm and a dry crunch to the finish, again a sort of honey nut and preserved lemon aftertaste. Old school style here, and very different from the mainstream, but good."
